Spray-Water

Sucking water into the trunk and then, while swinging the trunk and pinching the trunk-fingers together, spraying water out of the trunk in a double fountain. This action is typically performed during play.

Tuskless female Dram approaches a water hole where some young males are engaged in boisterous play. She appears to Look-At them, perhaps contemplating whether to go in here. She sucks water into her trunk and then releases it while swinging her trunk about and pinching her trunk-fingers together creating a double fountain of water. She and her family move on to a quieter spot. Elephants are often seen to do this in playful contexts. (Amboseli, Kenya)
